Location Demographics

Located towards the Upper North Shore of Sydney, the lovely suburb of Roseville opens its doors to leafy streets and a thriving residential area. It is situated around 11 km north-west from Sydney’s lively Central Business District. Looking back to earlier years, the town was historically known for having a few fruit orchards and market gardens. It was originally given its name from a stone cottage called ‘Rosa Villa’. In July 1901, the Roseville Post Office had officially opened. Presently, Roseville is surrounded by natural attractions, unique architecture and lush gardens. A few of the suburbs close by include Chatswood, Lindfield and Castle Cove.

With a flourishing and welcoming neighbourhood, families with children, singles, retirees and professionals have comfortably found their home in Roseville. The Australian Bureau of Statistics calculated the total population to reach over 10 300 people with the number steadily increasing. There are close to 3 000 families who are a part of the community and around 4 000 private dwellings that have already been established. Most of the population are between 40 to 45 years old and the median age is 40 years old.

Travel & Infrastructure

Linked to multiple public transport services, commuters at Roseville are able to enjoy consistent and efficient journeys. Around the corner, the Roseville Railway Station has 2 platforms and has trains running on the Northern Line and the North Shore and Western Line. To add, you’ll find lots of buses also available with some stops on Roseville Avenue, Boundary Street, Hill Street and more. Those driving are able to take the Pacific Highway for quick uninterrupted trips. 

Announced last year, the Ku-ring-gai Council will be upgrading central Roseville and adding in a few key features. These would include improved pedestrian and cyclist safety, improvements to Roseville Memorial Park, adding laneways for shopping and dining locations, extending floral displays, creating local events, widening footpaths and increasing the tree canopy. Also belonging to the City of Willoughby, the council has organised a future vision which will lead all the way to the year 2032. They are looking to enhance green spaces, reduce parking and traffic congestion, provide transport choices, promote an active and healthy lifestyle, create memorable food destinations and respond to changing needs.

Hosting a thriving commercial district, Roseville can provide all your shopping necessities! The Roseville Shopping Village is just nearby and has convenience stores, fast food options and services. Just a 3 km drive, the Lindfield Shopping Village brings supermarkets and a medical centre. For more, the Westfield Chatswood Shopping Centre is filled with an array of retailers and clothing brands. Within the vicinity, you’ll also be able to choose from a range of international cuisines. On Hill Street, the Saveur Restaurant serves French dishes at an upscale venue with vintage artworks. Order from the delicious menu at Shonan Japanese Kitchen or taste classic Thai dishes with a twist at the Thai SkyBar Restaurant. Enjoy hot drinks from Cafe Nate or try the popular Calibrate Coffee. Schools & Recreation

For parents with students, Roseville has plenty of schools not far from home. Those in younger year levels can attend the Roseville Preschool Kindergarten, the MindChamps Early Learning & Preschool or the Roseville Public School. Meanwhile, secondary students can join Chatswood High School or Killara High School with both less than a 4 km distance. Alternatively, Roseville College offers private education for girls from Prep to Year 12. When it comes to tertiary studies, the Australian Catholic University North Sydney Campus and the Macquarie University teaches a huge variety of subjects.

Living at Roseville, you’ll be able to unwind in the outdoors with several parks and spacious reserves. Only a short walk, the Roseville Park and the Bancroft Park both have a fun playground where you can bring the kids along. Attracting tourists and local visitors, the Echo Point Park is perfect for a peaceful stroll by the water with a scenic environment and walking trails. You can also gather together with loved ones and have a fun BBQ or picnic. To keep active, you may be keen for a hike following the Little Digger Track or the Two Creeks Track. On Links Avenue, organise a game at the Roseville Golf Club with its green fairways and picturesque landscapes.
