Location Demographics

The inner suburb of Milton can be found just 3 km west of Brisbane’s bustling Central Business District. It is right by the prominent Brisbane River and is known for having a mixture of commercial offices, retail warehouses and residential spaces. Back in the year 1915, the Milton Courts were opened and highly regarded as Brisbane’s major tennis courts where international and national tournaments were held. Some of the heritage sites include the Milton House, Christ Church and the Cook Terrace House. 

Next door to city conveniences and with a scenic environment, established families, singles and professionals have decided to get settled at Milton. During the 2021 Census, there were over 3 100 residents making up the total population and more than 700 families. The median age is 30 years old and the 25 to the 29-year-old age group is the most popular. For more, the Australian Bureau of Statistics has also counted close to 2 000 private dwellings with more homes expected to come.

Travel & Infrastructure

Everyone is able to access a number of public transport services nearby for easy journeys. At the heart of town, the Milton Railway Station has 4 platforms that carry passengers along the Ipswich and Rosewood Line and the Springfield Line. There are also heaps of buses running throughout the area with stops at Milton Road and Haig Road. Operated by RiveryCity Ferries, the Milton Wharf is on Coronation Drive and has 2 platforms. To add, those travelling by car are directly linked to the Pacific Motorway. 

After gathering community engagement and consultation, the Brisbane City Council are working towards delivering the Park Road, Milton Village Precinct Project. It is in line with the council’s commitment to creating a city of vibrant neighbourhoods and it will aim to revitalise Park Road through planning and improvements. The development is also centred on enhancing connections and safety, contributing to local economic growth and increasing the people’s sense of place. Based on the current timeline, construction is scheduled to be completed by the middle of 2023. 



Shoppers are able to choose from a whole range of brands and retailers just around the corner. The Milton Village Shopping Centre is only a stone’s throw away with medical services, fresh produce and quick eats. A bunch of specialty stores are also lined up on Douglas Street while the c is just within walking distance. Get together with friends at the Arrivederci Pizza Restaurant which serves unique metre-long pizzas and tasty gelato. Alternatively, the Scratch Bar offers cheese platters and signature drinks. Grab a coffee from the Whisk & Ladle Cafe or have a meal at the China Sea Milton Restaurant with outdoor seating.

Schools & Recreation

With multiple schools not too far from home, students can seamlessly continue their studies. The Milton State School and Edge Early Learning are both just a short walk. Meanwhile, high schoolers can join Hubbard's School or Brisbane State High School. Older students can pursue higher education pathways at St Francis Theological College or at the University of the Sunshine Coast with both being less than 3kms away.  Children can also attend extracurricular classes at the Premier Dance Academy or the KeyboardKidz Piano School. Set against flourishing attractions and amenities, get involved with all that’s happening at Milton. Challenge yourself and get active with some rock climbing at Urban Climb Milton. To unwind, let your pets tag along for a relaxing walk at Gregory Park or enjoy a game of tennis at the Roy Emerson Tennis Centre by Frew Park. Milton Park also has a welcoming playground and dog park making it a great outdoor spot. Stop by the XXXX Brewery for guided tours or catch an event at the famous Suncorp Stadium which hosts huge sports games and concerts. Around a 3km trip, visit the renowned Roma Street Parkland with contemporary display gardens and an amphitheatre. The Milton Markets are also held on a weekly basis with handicrafts, food stalls and live music.
