Location Demographics

Overflowing in history and design, Melbourne’s Central Business District is widely recognised throughout the globe for its thriving art scene and food culture. The area is Australia’s second-largest city and the capital of Victoria. Travel & Infrastructure

With no shortage of public transport services, you can easily figure out your daily commute. The Melbourne Central Railway Station has 4 platforms and follows 11 different train lines. On the other hand, the Flinders Street Railway Station is a main hub for commuters with trains running on 13 platforms. Tram stops are also spread throughout the vicinity with free tram zones available. Those driving are able to utilise the CityLink Toll Roads leading to freeways and thoroughfares. 

According to the Council Plan for 2021 to 2025, the Melbourne City Council have outlined 6 strategic objectives in response to feedback from the community. These include driving a strong economy for the future through a mix of industries and jobs, celebrating Melbourne’s identity and creativity, enriching knowledge about the city’s heritage, prioritising the environment by taking action to reduce emissions and waste, providing universal access to housing and resources and focusing on the safety and wellbeing for all. The Budget for 2022 to 2023 will go towards infrastructure investment, events, parks and open spaces.

Shopping

From outlet malls with big brands to streets lined with eateries, shoppers are truly spoilt for choice. At Emporium, there are a handful of upscale retailers and designer clothing stores. The Melbourne Central Shopping Centre also has multiple levels of shops and a cinema while the QV Melbourne Shopping Centre provides trendy boutiques, supermarkets and fast food options. With loads of restaurants and venues, discover a variety of cuisines and the upbeat nightlife. On Flinders Lane, the Hazel Restaurant serves delicious dishes and signature drinks. Schools & Recreation

Parents are able to conveniently send their children to quality schools right nearby. The Carlton Gardens Primary School and the Docklands Primary School are both less than a 3 km drive. Those in kindergarten are looked after at the Goodstart Early Learning Melbourne on Flinders Street or at the Guardian Childcare & Education on Collins Street. High school students are able to study at Haileybury, Melbourne Girls Grammar or at Wesley College. There are quite a range of tertiary institutions just a short walking distance away including the Victoria University City Campus and the University of Melbourne. 

Full of life and packed with iconic sights, Melbourne’s vibrant CBD is the ultimate destination. Feel just like a tourist by taking in the vibrant environment and exploring all there is to experience from museums to markets to picturesque parks. You also can’t miss the Australian Open held annually at Melbourne Park and catching a game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground or at AAMI Park. To add, the Kings Domain has acres of green fields by the Yarra River where you can unwind and the Fitzroy Gardens has vast walking paths and historical features.
