Suburb Profile: Chadstone, VIC

The vibrant suburb of Chadstone uniquely combines a peaceful neighbourhood lifestyle with a bustling fashion and entertainment hub. It is situated 17kms south-east of Melbourne’s much loved Central Business District. The community is highly recognised for its various landmarks such as the Matthew Flinders Hotel and particularly, for being the location where Australia’s largest shopping centre can be found. The Neighbours 

The place is a part of the City of Monash and continues to be a growing destination where residents are able to live comfortably. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the population size is around 8 600 people with the median age being 33 years old. When it comes to private dwellings, there are 3, 620 properties established and are mostly detached housing.

The Commute 

At Chadstone, there are various public transport options provided for passengers to assist with their daily journey. Run by Public Transport Victoria, the Holmesglen and Jordanville train stations are both less than 3kms away and follow the Glen Waverley line. Motorists are serviced by the Monash Freeway allowing for direct routes towards the inner city and outer suburbs. There are also a few bus stops on Waverley and Warrigal Road for trips nearby.

Shopping For The Family

Being home to the iconic and renowned Chadstone Shopping Centre, there is no shortage of stylish brands, speciality boutiques and designer stores. Regarded as ‘The Fashion Capital’, the mall is known for having luxury fashion labels, international retailers and a variety of dining choices to select from. In addition, the Chadstone Lifestyle Centre is just a quick walk away and brings together all your homeware needs.

The School Run

Families and students of all ages can make the most of having multiple schools right at their doorstep. The Guardian Childcare and Education and St Mary Magdalen’s School are both under 2kms from the town centre. On the other hand, the Berengarra School and Salesian College are also close to 2kms by car. For higher education, the Holmesglen Institute is within walking distance while the Monash University Clayton and Caulfield Campuses are both a short drive. 

What’s Going On? 

For some time to unwind, the Batesford Reserve provides the ideal space to bring along your pets and where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll or get active with some exercise. You can also have a sports game with friends at the Jordan Reserve and bring the young ones to the playground. There is also more family fun at the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre where everyone can interact with the attractions, hop on the rides and get creative at the building zones.
