Edmondson Park - Suburb Profile

Named after John Edmondson — the first to win the Australian Victoria Cross medal for bravery in World War 2 —  it was decided that Edmondson Park be named after this man to honour his bravery in the war. Located 32km away from Sydney’s CBD, Edmondson Park is deemed to be a quiet and peaceful suburb, perfect for families and professionals. The Neighbours
Edmondson Park is a small suburb with a population of 2,271 people, as per the 2016 Census. Of these residents, 49.6% were male and 50.4% are female, with 0.3% of the population being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders. The newly developed Ed Square, an estate within the suburb, brings a touch of city living to the small town; with sleek restaurants, an urban neighbourhood environment, shopping and entertainment, and much more. Edmondson Park proving to be a booming yet peaceful neighbourhood for families and professionals alike.

The Commute
There is no shortage of getting to where you need to go with plenty of public transport around the suburb of Edmondson Park. With Edmondson Park Train Station close by and numerous amounts of buses to get you where you need to go, commuting by public transport to work or the CBD is simple and convenient. The town is also a quick 10 minute drive from the M5 and M7, which makes commuting by car easy and accessible.

Shopping For The Family
There are many options for shopping and dining in Edmondson Park. With the recent developments of Ed Square and Village Square Shopping Centre all in close proximity to one another (all within a 5 minute drive), there are plenty of options for retail therapy and food for those in the area. In addition to that, there are also lots of local malls and markets around Edmondson Park to cater for those who just want a quick shop for their every day needs. Edmondson Park Town Centre is also set to open with 120 retail shops, Event Cinemas, and a multitude of dining options. Edmondson Park being a great suburb for all different types of shopping.

The School Run
St Francis Catholic College lies at the heart of Edmondson Park, being the only private school in the area. Other schools around the community that are about a 10 minute drive from one another are, Bardia Public School and Glenfield Park School.

What’s Going On?
With restrictions easing, take this time to get a breath of fresh air and check out Clermont Park, the local park in the area; great for families and even for those who just want to take a walk.
